"Navigator, the EHTEL Newsletter", highlights focal points of EHTEL's activities and a calendar of events. It is published two to four times a year with some flexibility i.e. depending on projects and events.

Looking forward to the Digital Health and Social Continuum: Digital Health is a reality around Europe. Innovative approaches extend the health and social continuum and open up new opportunities for all stakeholders. Actors around the globe re-iterate the truism of the high demands for IT-enabled healthcare coordination that stem from higher prevalence of chronic conditions in ageing societies. Improving outcomes, controlling costs and reducing disparities across populations have become economic and social imperatives around the world. Looking forward, societies must prepare themselves to the avalanche of health and social needs that a new generation may bring. We see forward thinkers cultivating new, integrated communities of care that share common goals centred on the patient - to understand the individual's context and their populations more holistically - to address not only clinical factors of illness, but to encompass the social determinants and life style choices that impact health outcomes. New, smarter systems of care are developing to create more sustainable, cost-effective approaches to optimising resources, individual health and community vitality. [..]"

eHealth: Looking ahead with EHTEL: "The context is exciting and challenging. Healthcare faces a decade of transformation where information will become the currency of change, underpinning the spectrum from global to local. Most of the debate will happen away from front-line care, but real progress will be achieved primarily at local level in clinical interaction with patients, in clinical process, in self-management and shared responsibilities. If information is the currency of change, then eHealth is one of the key enablers, as long as the key stakeholders can find ways to deploy its potential effectively. [..]"

Moving eHealth beyond the “e” – EHTEL celebrates its 10th Anniversary and looks ahead: "The past decade has been the witness of quite noticeable changes of health care by Health ICT. Nowadays, eHealth symbolises the modernisation of healthcare in support of quality of care, empowerment of patients, higher efficiency and also increased health professional job satisfaction. This has not happened by itself, rather a synergy of strategic plans, political commitments and technical developments was needed. [..]"
