South Karelia Welfare Area, formerly EKSOTE, is a joint municipal authority in the South Karelia region, encompassing nine municipalities: Imatra, Lappeenranta, Lemi, Luumäki, Parikkala, Rautjärvi, Ruokolahti, Savitaipale, and Taipalsaari. The health services aim to maintain and improve the health, wellbeing, working and functional capacity, and social security of people while reducing health inequalities.
