EU eHealth Week

EHTEL regularly contributes to the Annual EU eHealth Conferences, typically organised as eHealth Week, i.e. a co-location of the yearly EU eHealth Conference, hosted by the EU Presidency and the European Commission, with World of Health IT, hosted by HIMSS Europe. In particular, the independent EHTEL Leadership debates - affiliated to the annual eHealth Week - have been establised as a series of visionary talks welcoming - jointly with our members - leaders in health and welfare as distinguished guests.

More Data, Better Care? EHTEL Thought Leadership Debate 2016 on making data treasures actionable

On the evening of 9th June 2016, at the DeLaMar Theatre in Amsterdam, a stimulating Thought Leadership debate was facilitated by EHTEL with the support of Emminens, Roche and Intel. The session attracted more than 80 leaders from the fields of European health, care, data analytics, mobile health, pharmaceuticals and technology. Topics covered: Involving citizens and patients as active partners for knowledge sharing; making data sharing safe; giving control of data to individuals; and making health records more accessible, and analysing them to deliver actionable timely insights. Healthcare on the Move - EHTEL Thought Leadership Debate 2015

EHTEL, Assuta and MSD held a series of visionary talks - nicely supported by the skyline view of Riga. Our distinguished guests - leaders in mobile health and integrated healthcare - reflected on the Mobile Triangle of Health Information (patients, physicians and provider organisations). This triangle opens up fascinating opportunities for patients at the point of care as well as for health professional practice. “Move the information, not the patient” has never held more true. The Evening Session "From Hindsight to Foresight - creating integrated communities of care" - co-organised by EHTEL and IBM at the recent eHealth Week featured a compelling Thought Leader Panel discussion at the recent eHealth Week in Dublin. Panellists Sara Burke, Journalist, broadcaster and health policy analyst (Ireland), George Crooks OBE, EHTEL President and Medical Director NHS24 (Scotland), Toni Dedeu, Senior International Officer, Ministry of Health of Catalonia (Spain) and Jean Hermesse, Secretary General, Christian Mutuality (Belgium) were lively moderated by Sean Hogan, Vice President, Healthcare Delivery, IBM. Participants found excellent opportunities to discuss on opportunities to improve outcomes by integrating communities of care.
