On 16th of September 2020, German's health innovation hub will host the English-speaking “International DiGA Summit” targeting digital health companies, policymakers, and payer representatives from across the world to outline the DiGA Fast Track in detail, present the process towards approval and be there for extensive Q&A.

DiGA Fast Track is Germany’s new, structured way for digital healthcare solutions to get access to the German statutory healthcare system. It reaches more than 75 million citizens. It was defined by the Digital Healthcare Act (DVG) in 2019.

Since May 2020, the online application form for DiGA has been live at BfArM (Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices – the German equivalent to the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA)).

Digital health applications (DiGA) that successfully pass the application process can be prescribed by any German physician or psychotherapist. DiGA manufacturers are reimbursed by the German statutory health insurers.

The German health innovation hub (hih), the think tank financed by the Federal Ministry of Health, was a sparring partner for the Ministry as well as BfArM during the development and implementation of the DiGA Fast Track.

It is now communicating on the new regulation to a wide range of stakeholders.
