Access to more than 30 training courses or programmes on digital skills for the health and care workforce is now located in the digital skills monitor developed by BeWell.

The skills monitor is a web-based tool that lists digital skills training programmes for the health and care workforce both in Europe and in other countries globally.

Courses are classified according to a variety of life-long learning, continuous professional development, and continuous medical development programmes.

Course content and attendee profiles

The current courses submitted to BeWell are geared towards topics like digital literacy, digital transformation, electronic medical records, entrepreneurial skills, innovation, risk management, and service design.  Several are focused on cybersecurity in the health field. They are intended to attract all types of health and care professionals, people who work in both care services and the social care sector, pharmacists, and cancer specialists.

These courses can be completed over a wide range of lengths of time, from two days to three years. Some are free (e.g., for members of the workforce in their countries' national health services); others have prices on application. Many offer certificates of completion

Finer detail lets you know about the courses: languages; locations; responsible organisations; types; eligibility criteria for attendance; and whether they are mandatory or voluntary to attend.

Many courses are offered either by national health services or by universities. In the European Union, they can be found in e.g., Finland, Germany, Ireland, Poland, the Netherlands, and Spain. Outside Europe, courses are spotlit in Switzerland and the United Kingdom (including England, Scotland, and Wales) and in Canada and the United States of America.

Several courses are featured on the European Commission's DigiSkills and Jobs Platform. This platform can also be searched using terms relevant to health

Regular updating

BeWell welcomes ongoing submissions of new courses and programmes that have come on the market since autumn 2023.

The monitor is updated on a yearly basis. Thus, it is capturing new courses, skills, and programmes for the health and care field. Additions will be focused both on existing and emerging digital professions.

BeWell uses the information you submit to the monitor in order to facilitate a comparative analysis on what is happening throughout Europe.

Let BeWell know about the courses that you offer here.

Completion of the form should take only a few minutes, especially if you fill in just the minimum amount of information.

BeWell is involved in its own training course development

Meanwhile, in parallel, BeWell is also designing - and ultimately piloting - its own set of ten training courses on urgent digital skills for the health and care workforces. BeWell's training courses range over a number of digital skills. They help you to know e.g., about big data/data analyticstelemedicine, and the use of common software applications like those offered by Google and Microsoft.

BeWell has published more widely other details too on the green skills courses and programmes that it has identified in its March 2024 newsletter

Meanwhile, if your own interest is more on courses on the green skills needed by your health and care workforce staff members, the BeWell skills monitor already includes more than 15 of these.
