Enabling and Enhancing Prevention and Healthcare Management Across the Ageing Life Course

The Ageing Deal joint efforts aim to foster dialogue between European research and innovation actions and civil society to co-create equitable, inclusive, and sustainable solutions that support healthy ageing in European societies. The network of projects - COMFORTage, STAGE and SmILE - develops and pilots science-based solutions to support the transformation of healthcare systems, addressing immediate healthcare needs (e.g., demographic pressures, digital transformation, AI, innovative medical technologies) while contributing to long-term system sustainability and equity.

Continuing from the first Ageing Deal event in Barcelona, Spain in May, 2025, this second public joint event seeks to further strengthen bottom-up dialogue with local, national and European stakeholders, recognising that no single model can address the diverse needs of ageing societies across Europe.

This event is open to members of the Ageing Deal cluster projects, representatives of the European Commission, local and regional stakeholders in Rome and across Italy, policymakers, and professionals involved in implementing care strategies.

European Union’s and Italian perspectives on ageing and health promotion of the ageing population

After an overview of the European landscape, two short introductory speeches will provide the audience with the most recent insights of the Italian national plans for healthy ageing and dementia prevention.

1) Strategy on Ageing from international/European level
2) Challenges on Integrated Care and Ageing in Italy
3) Italian Strategy on Dementia and Cognitive Decline

Panel discussion 1: From Policy Vision to System Transformation: Enabling Prevention Across the Ageing Life Course
Exploring how policy frameworks can be translated into concrete healthcare system transformation actions supporting prevention and healthy ageing. Each of the three European Ageing Deal projects will propose one new strategic orientation opened for discussion with key Informed Italian representatives.

Panel discussion 2: From Innovation to Real-World Adoption and Integrated Care: Implementing Data-Driven and AI-Enabled Ageing Care Solutions
Translating innovation into real-world healthcare and care delivery, including data-driven care, AI-enabled prevention, connected medical technologies, and integrated care pathways. Each of the three European Ageing Deal projects will propose a solutions opened for appraisal and discussion with Italian panellists from the Lazio Region and Rome Municipality.
