The EHTEL agenda at the Radical Health Festival Helsinki 2024
Ageing populations, increasing prevalence of cardio-metabolic conditions, workforce shortages and burnouts, rising healthcare costs, unsustainable financing systems, health inequities: health systems around the world are facing a perfect storm. We need to challenge and radically innovate the way we promote health and deliver care.
In 2024 EHTEL is a Steering Committee Partner: which means EHTEL is co-organising three sessions in the festival.

During the COVID-19 pandemic more than ever, being safely hospitalised at home has become much more attractive for patients who are recovering from heart failure: it vastly improves their quality of life. For patients, their mental and physical safety is a key advantage of home hospitalisation, whereas increasing the availability of beds and reducing hospitalisation costs are important issues for hospitals.

Read moreIn March 2020, to support the COVID-19 response in Wales, TEC (Technology Enabled Care) Cymru and partners rapidly implemented the large-scale roll-out of a video consulting service. With the COVID-19 pandemic taking hold, and with a nationwide lockdown looming, healthcare professionals needed to have a safe and secure way to continue seeing patients. With the support of EHTEL member, the Welsh Government.Technology Enabled Care (TEC) Cymru was responsible for the implementation of the video consultation programme in Wales’ National Health Service (NHS) at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Video consultations were rolled out to all healthcare services in the NHS in Wales to supplement traditional face-to-face appointments.19/08/2021Travelling in the right direction: Europe’s health data space
